Stepping up the ongoing counter insurgency operation, Imphal East District Police have apprehended two activists of the proscribed KNA during the past 24 hours from different parts of capital city.
Based on a specific information, a police team arrested the activist identify as Thanggin alias Hegin (18) s/o of late Sanayamba Singh of Keibi Heikak Mapal, but presently staying at New Chec-kon while conducting frisking and checking at Chec-kon crossing at around 4 pm yesterday.
On preliminary interrogation, Thanggin disclosed that he joined KNA in the May 2005 through one corporal Bijoy and underwent training at Wakanphai in Senapati district for a one month under Army No 795.The other KNA activist who was arrested from Paona Bazar, Imphal at around 9.45 am is identified as Laishram James (20) s/o late L Sarat Singh of Samusang Boroi Makhong.
During interrogation, he disclosed that he joined KNA in March 2005 through one Sgt major Halngam alias Rolin of Moreh.
Meanwhile, another team of Imphal East District Police have arrested a KCP activist identified as Chirom Sadananda alias Shanta (25) s/o late Ch Imo Singh of Kiyamgei Maning Leikai at about 10 am today.
