Imphal, November 12: Troops of 32 Assam Rifles have arrested an activist of PULF who was involved in the killing of Md Shaheed of Ngarian Village on October 27 this year and handed him over to the police.

The arrested PULF activist who has been taken into police custody is identified as Md Azad Ali alias Nahathem (30) of Yairipok Bamon Leiki Khunou.

According to police, Azad holds the rank of a lance corporal and works as an overground cadre of the town finance of the outfit.

He had also undergone training in a training camp located at Lairam Khullen.

Azad was arrested by the personnel of 32 AR during a search operation conducted at Yairipok Bamon Leikai Khunou area on Nov 10 at around 8.30 pm.
