Imphal, October 03: Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has announced ex-gratia payment of Rs 1 lakh each to the next of kin of the two Badminton players from Sikkim who were killed in a bus accident on September 30 and Rs 10,000 to each of the players who suffered injuries.

Announcing this in a statement today, the Chief Minister said he is deeply shocked to leanr that the Canter bus carrying the Badmiton players from Sikkim met an accident on September 30 on their way back after the conclusion of the North Eastern Zone Inter State Badminton Championship, 2005 held at Imphal.

In the accident, two players namely Prasan Pradhan and Kuldip Gurung lost their lives while others sustained injuries.

The Chief Minister also conveyed his condolence on their sad demise and shared in the sorrow of the bereaved family members.
