Imphal, September 10: Terming demand for alleviation of Sadar hills to a full fledged revenue district as genuine and justified Manipur Intellectual Forum called upon the State Government to carry out necessary official procedure to honour demand raised by Sadar Hills District Demand Committee without further delay.

Recalling that State Govt on a number of occasion had assured to confer revenue district status to Sadar Hills the Forum expressed that failure to deliver justice and backtracking from promises made to the Sadar Hills people would be a deterrent to smooth administration.

The body, however, desired that hillocks at close to affinity to valley areas be excluded from inclusion into Sadar Hills district on grounds of administrative convenience and to preserve topography.

Regarding electorates of seven assembly constituencies deprived the right to contest parliamentary elections MIF demanded that State Government review the entire process to enable these electorates enjoy democratic rights.
