Imphal, December 26 2009: Villagers of Nongbrang and its adjoining area yesterday stormed the Yairipok police station demanding release of two villagers rounded up by the police in connection with the lynching to dead of two Kuki youths in the aftermath of militants firing on December 23 last.

Two villagers nabbed by the police in connection with the incident were Wangjam Bijoy (44) and Maibam Ojit (20) .

They were picked by the Yairipok police on December 23 .

Yesterday, villagers stormed the police station at about 1.15 pm.
