Imphal, June 20 2009: The Pioneer Health Club, Manipur observed its third Foundation Day and its first general body meeting on June 18 last at the Auditorium of Friendship Educational Academy located at Khurai Tinseed Road, a release stated.

The meeting presided by the Club's President, Dr S Bapu also observed one minute silence to show respect to the departed souls of the club's patrons, the 18 persons who laid their lives on June 18, 2001, and to revere elder citizens of the world, it stated.

After detail deliberation on the reports made by the general secretary and treasurer, the meeting adopted resolutions relating to the welfare of the elder citizens of the state, situation of the state, and future course of action, the statement conveys.

The meeting also elected 11 executive members of the club for three years.

Thokchom Manihar has been elected as the president, Takhelmayum Tomba as GS, Ningombam Babuton as treasurer, K Satyajit as publicity secretary, among others, are the new executive members of the club, it stated.

The meeting came to an end with the members having snacks.
