CADA seized 170 litres of local liquor

Imphal, February 28 2009: The Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) has seized 170 litres of local liquor from an auto-rickshaw yesterday around 10am at Chingmeirong, a release of CADA signed by its information secretary, Farooq Khullakpam said.

It however said that the auto-rickshaw driver has escaped with the auto.

The seized item was consigned to flame with the presence of Chingmeirong locals, it added.

Meanwhile, the AMADA members have also confiscated 43 litres of local liquor along with one woman yesterday from Moirang Hanuba, a released of AMADA drive committee deputy secretary, Kh (O) Sophiya Leima said.

The arrested woman has been identified as Langpoklakpam (O) Indira Devi (33) of Moirang Hanuba Mamang Leirak.
