Imphal, Jun 23: The DG of AR Lt Gen Bhopinder Singh who would be retiring from service at the end of this month shared his thoughts and experience with the officers, JCOs and jawans at Happy Valley, Shillong today, informed a press release issued by the PRO of HQs IG AR (S).

It conveyed of the DG disclosing that there are 188 cases of HIV/AIDS in AR.

He also called upon the jawans to act with firmness and urgency to prevent further spread of the disease.

As AR troops are being deployed permanently in the North East, plans have been approved for more accommodation in places like Shillong, Guwahati, Imphal, Jorhat, Tezpur, Agartala and Dimapur so that maximum number of AR families can be accommodated in closer locations, mentioned the release.
