Imphal, Jul 04: Imphal East district police commandos apprehended an activist of the NSCN (K) during a cordon and search operation at Namdailong at around 12.15 pm today.

According to a statement issued by SP L Kailun, the arrested man has been identified as Ameile Kabui alias Akhiu (26) s/o Ngamkhuilang Kabui of Ngariyan Rangjan village.

On preliminary interrogation, the arrestee (army no.1260 of 1st batch) disclosed of joining the outfit in Jan 2005 through an s/s sergeant major Jonang and underwent training at Noney Part-II, the SP added.
