Imphal, October 30 2008: A COMBINED team of Thoubal and Imphal east district police commandos today rescued an engineer of the PWD, PMGSY division named Tongbram Latishore Singh, 56 of Thanga Ngaram Leikai from Khangabok area and also apprehended the kidnapper named Laishram Robindro Singh, 39, of L Dabali of Khangabok, a statement of the Imphal east SP said.

The combined team conducted a raid at the house of one Dolomba of Khangabok part-III and found the engineer staying there.

During verification to the engineer, he said that he was kidnapped from Kha Potshangbam in Bishnupur district on October 24 last at around 2 pm by the activist of the KCP (Nongthang group), the statement said.
