GOC 3 Corps assesses security ahead of polls

Imphal, February 21: Lt General MS Dadwal, GOC of 3 Corps arrived at Leimakhong today on a two day visit to review the security situation and deployment of security forces for the third phase polling.

PIB (Defence Wing) in a statement said that the GOC was briefed on the situation by Maj General EJ Kochekkan, GOC of 57 Mountain Division, Maj Gen BK Chengapa, IGAR (S) and Brig BP Singh Officiating IGAR (N).

Lt Gen Dadwal also emphasised on the need to provide foolproof security to the polling officials and personnel escorting polling parties, said the statement.
