Imphal, February 13: The Board of Trustee for the Management of LGM Award has selected Elangbam Birkumar Singh of Langmeidong Makha Leikai for awarding Laishram Gouramani Memorial Award for the Visually Handicapped, 2006-07 for his outstanding contribution to the upliftment of theatre arts in Manipur.

The award is being donated by Padma Shree Laishram Nabakishore of Sagolband Khamnam Leirak, Imphal, herbal medicine practitioner renowned for his treatment of renal calculus.

The award consisting of Rs 3000 in cash, a citation and a memento will be presented to the recipient during a function to be arranged by the Students� Welfare Association for the Blind, Takyel on February 22 at the Home for the Blind, Takyel.
