Imphal, February 01:
Hailing the decision of PULF to withdraw the threat of capital punishment to four FCS officials including its Director, FREINDS noted that people would appreciated the outfit all the more had PULF dropped the capital punishment threat altogether.
A statement issued by FREINDS cited the demographic composition of the State where one-third of the population is comprised of outsiders thereby threatening the very survival of the indigenous peoples.
As such FREINDS appealed to all UG groups not to resort to death penalty against any indigenous people of the State.
It further appealed to all UG groups fighting against the Government of India not to make public the tussle for food grains, sugar, kerosene etc provided by the Government of India as far as possible.
