Imphal, Jul 28: All India Christian Council (AICC) has welcomed the remarks of National Commission for Minorities Chairman Prof Hamid Ansari asking the State Govts not to dilute the religious freedom guaranteed in the Constitution of India by legislating new anti-conversion bills.

AICC said it had already presented a statement signed by scores of human rights activists to the Commission protesting the so called freedom of religious bills being passed or aggravated by the Govts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Jharkhand.
