Imphal, January 06 2010: District Leprosy Unit Imphal West and Public Health and Sensitization Wing of Imphal Municipal Council jointly organised one-day sensitization programme on National Leprosy Eradication Programme for Opinion Leaders (Councillors) today.

Health Services Director Dr W Motilal and Imphal Municipal Council Chairman RK Ranisana graced the occasion as chief guest and president respectively.

IMC Vice-Chairperson and N Raghumani and NLEP Manipur SLO Dr Sukumar were also members of the dais.

Speakers of the function informed the gathering that leprosy is a curable disease caused by a bacteria Mycobacterium Leprae.
