Imphal, August 28: Body of 28-year old Khwairakpam Kiran of Lairenjam under Patsoi police station has been handed over to family members after the post mortem at RIMS mortuary today.

The youth's body was recovered on August 26 evening two days after being allegedly shot and grievously wounded by personnel of Excise Department at Yarou Loukon from Konthoujam area.

The inquest on Kiran's body was performed in the presence of an SDC while the post mortem itself was filmed on video.

Man succumbs: One Maltilien Haokip (25) of Inuryang village in Churachandpur, who had been undergoing treatment at the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital, Porompat since August 19 succumbed to injuries today.

Maltilien was admitted to the hospital after being hit by a speeding bus (MN05/1245) at Utlou Bazar at around 9.30 am of August 16.The body has been handed over to the family members on completion of post mortem at RIMS morgue.
