Imphal, August 30: A girl student has been killed while two others sustained injuries when they were knocked down by a Tata Tipper (MN05-3956) at Ngasekpam Leikai under Patsoi police station at about 1.10 pm today.

The accident took place when the girls were riding bicycles.

The deceased has been identified as Tongbram Ibechaobi alias Binita (16) d/o of T Biren of Ngairangbam Mayai Leikai.

The injured are late Ibechaobi alias Binita's younger sister Babita (14) and Khumukcham Amita (16) d/o K Labango of Awang Khunou.

The two injured victims have been admitted in RIMS.

Police have picked up the Tata Dipper involved in the accident and a case has been registered in this connection, informed a police source.
