Imphal, February 26, 2010:
A young woman has been brought to RIMS Hospital after she sustained bullet wounds on the buttock and chest areas when commando personnel opened fire at a moving vehicle (Tata Sumo) that tried to speed away inspite of being asked to halt for checking.
A police source said the incident occurred at Wangjing bazar at around 10 pm today.
The commando team, who on frisking and checking duty at Thoubal Bazar chased the vehicle upto Wangjing and opened fire to stop the fleeing driver.
Upon checking tobacco items including Zarda and Khaini were found inside the vehicle.
The injured woman has been identified as Anla (25) of Bongyang.
