Imphal, November 17:
The ATSUM has decried that the high level committee constituted by the State Govt to look into grievances of tribal people of the State under one senior Cabinet Minister as chairman has failed to serve its purpose.
After the first meeting of the Committee on Sept 3 this year, there has not been any more since then, noted ATSUM in a release.
It also reminded that the Govt had in principle agreed to utilise or re-engage teachers engaged on contract basis.
ATSUM asserted that it cannot wait any longer for fulfilment of the assurance in view of the upcoming new academic session.
While remarking that SDSA demands are genuine, it urged for positive action from the Govt to address the issue immediately.
