One hurt by gun shot

Imphal, May 15: A man was hurt in indiscriminate firing by some unidentified gun men yesterday at around 8:40 pm at Keikhu Awang Leikai under Porompat police station.

The injured victim is identified as Md Abdul Rashid (26) s/o Md Rafiudin of Keikhu Awang Leikai.

Recounting the incident, he said that two scooter borne youths came looking for one drug abuser Tomba when he was standing at the gate of his home.

As the conversation got heated up and there was louder exchange of words.

These aroused people and came towards them.

Seeing the people, the unidentified youths fired some rounds before fleeing away one which hit Abdul on the right shoulder.

Abdul is now being treated at JN Hospital.
