Imphal, November 14 2008: The proscribed PREPAK has refuted any connection between the outfit/its red army and Th Robert alias Kholle s/o Th Basanta of Kakwa Nameirakpam Leikai arrested by Imphal West commandos from his home yesterday morning.

Reacting to the police statement about Robert confessing to joining PREPAK through one captain Ibomcha, the outfit alleged that the statement was a fabricated one.

A statement issued by the outfit's Imphal West district commander Jemson further asserted that there is no one by the name of captain Ibomcha in PREPAK.

The outfit further alleged that harassing innocent civilians with fabricated accusations of being underground cadres is not a new thing for security forces.

The security forces also forced civilians to claim themselves as UG cadres under duress, it alleged.
