Imphal, Aug 14: To mark the occasion of the Britishers leaving Manipur on August 14, 1947, the All Manipur Students' Union today celebrated the 59th Independence Day of Manipur.

The function was attended by the president of the student body, Birendra Chingakham as president and former president of AMSU Bheigyachandra Shamuphaba as the chief guest.

The function was held at the head office of the student body and a gas baloon with the word, 59th Independence Day was released at the occasion.
