Imphal, April 11:
Three persons allegedly involved in cattle theft have been rounded up by villagers of Kwakta and the cow they had stole from the cowshed of one was recovered Md Maheruddin (40) of Kwakta Khuman Awang Leikai.
Maheruddin reportedly raised an alarm using the local mosque's public address system late last night on detecting his cow missing from the shed.
As the local volunteers spread out in search of the missing cattle one Md Islamuddin (30) was apprehended from Kwakta Marong Lou (paddy field) while trying to shift the cattle.
On Islamuddin's disclosure his other accomplices in the act Md Mehruddin (51) of Tera Khongshangbi and Md Zaher Khan (20) also from Tera Khongshangbi were also rounded up by the villagers.
After thrashing them the trio have been handed over to Moirang police station at around 10 am today.
Moirang police also received five complaints of loss of cattle today itself.
