Imphal, March 27:
The All Zeliangrong Students Union of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (AZSU-AMN) has strongly expressed its resentment over the manner in which the State Government is handling the outbreak of rabies in the State.
AZSU-AMN said that numerous cases of dog bites have been reported in the Tamenglong disrict but the the State Veterinary Department continues to remain indifferent to the problem.
The Zeliangrong body stated that a number of complaints have been made but the State Veterinary Department is only concentrating in the valley areas but nothing had been done in Tamnglong district.
The statement said that the working of WLL phone is also in deplorable condition and urged the concerned Department to immediately address the WLL phone problem.
"If the above mentioned two problems are not addressed immediately necessary steps will be initiated against the Government," the statement warned.
