A team of the Parliamentary Railway Convention Committee comprising of seven MPs arrived at Imphal today to study the progress of the survey work being carried out for laying the railway line from Jiribam to Imphal.
The team headed by GN Ramchandra as Chairman was received at the Tulihal Airport by Divisional Manager of Northern Frontier Railways, Lamding BM Sharma, Chief Commissioner (Construction), Silchar Division B Choudhury and other officials.
The visiting MPs will hold a meeting to discuss the progress of Jiribam-Imphal Railway project along with officials of the Railways and the State Govts in the morning tomorrow apart from a joint session on �Participation of railways in the backward region�.
