Troops of 22 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 27 Sector today seized 333 kgs of ganja from a dark blue coloured Tata Sumo at Maram.
In a statement, PIB Defence Wing said that a mobile check post of Assam Rifles detected the ganja on the vehicle (NL-08-0196) driven by one Lossi Mao of Senapati district.
The other occupant of the vehicle was named as Mateso of Senapati.
The ganja was found packed in 33 packets and the consignment was meant for one Sahrinii of Mao gate, said the statement and added that the ganja is worth Rs 10 lakhs.
The seized ganja, the driver, owner and Mateso along with the vehicle were handed over to the Mao police today.
Shop burnt: Unidentified miscreants set a pan dukan ablaze at Ringkum Colony, Japhou village, Chandel today morning at about 1.The owner of the shop is identified as one R Watson Moyon (21).According to family members the fire destroyed goods worth Rs 90,000 including a refrigerator and Rs 3000 in cash.
The fire raged on for about an hour and it was put off by the public of Chandel.
