UG held, cop whisked away by associates

Imphal, October 05: A high voltage drama unfolded in front of Wangoi police station today at about 7.30 pm, when a frisking party of policemen arrested two underground cadres with two arms and the associates of the arrested cadres overpowered another two cops a few metres away and took away one SLR and one AK 47 rifle.

A source said that the UGs were coming on three/four bikes when they were stopped.

Two of them were arrested, but his colleagues managed to over power another two policemen some distance away and took away one SLR and one AK 47 rifle as well.
