Imphal, October 03: To avert all possible mishaps and neutralise threats and disturbance during the ensuing festivals of Durga Pooja and Laxmi Pooja, the District Magistrates of Imphal East and West have issued separate notices banning crackers in their areas of jurisdiction.

In separate notices, the two DMs said that henceforth stocking, sale and use of fire crackers in the two capital districts have been banned.

The prohibitory orders were issued under section 144 (2) of CrPC, 1973.
