Lok Adalats dispose 60 accident claims

Imphal, September 10: Two separate Lok Adalats involving United India Insurance Co and National Insurance Co Ltd settled as many as 60 different motor accident claim cases during their sittings today at the premises of District and Sessions court, Cheirap.

While United India Insurance Co disposed 26 cases out of the 35 cases listed, National Insurance Co settled 34 cases of the listed 39 motor accident claim cases.

The highest amount compensated to the claimant (accident victim) to be paid by United India is Rs 3,50,000 and lowest is Rs 6000.For National Insurance Co the highest amount awarded was Rs 2.35 lacs and Rs 5,000 as the least.

Additional District Judge Manipur East K Bipin Sharma and advocates L Sharat Sharma and Th Kesho conducted the Adalat involving United India Insurance Co.

For National Insurance, the Adalat was conducted by Additional District Judge, Manipur West Kh Gomati Devi, and advocates L Bijoy and Ch Narendra.
