KYKL claims hand in killing Sunil

Imphal, Jul 28: The KYKL has claimed responsibility for the killing of L Sunil alias Sunindro alias Malem on July 25 near N Birahari College at Khundrakpam.

Explaining the reasons behind the capital punishment, KYKL in a statement said that Sunil worked under the late militia commander N Deban alias Shamba alias Nanao in collecting taxes.

However after Deban passed away on May 8 this year, Sunil sought retirement from the outfit which was granted.

Sunil, known as Malem in the KYKL however did not stop collecting money in the name of the outfit, charged the statement and added that in the beginning of this month he extorted Rs 5000 from a cement shop at Khurai Lamlong.

After the matter came to light, the Dy CO of KYKL, 2nd Lt Santa instructed Sunil to stop his activities and live a retired life.

Sunil did not heed the warning and the advice and collected Rs 62,000 from 7 cement shops a ware houses, charged KYKL and added that to save precious information of the outfit being leaked out and he was duly given the death penalty.

KYKL warned that if any impostor is found collecting money in its name then the impostor would be killed without any warning.
