A nine member team of World Peace Motor-cycle Expedition arrived at Imphal yesterday and has left for Myanmar today.
Speaking to The Sangai Express at the office of PIB (DW) at Imphal, captain of the expedition team Justin Charles informed that the expedition aimed at promoting peace and fraternity across the globe was flagged off from Chennai on September 27.The expedition organised by Life Trust has so far crossed 18 Indian States before arriving at Imphal from Kohima yesterday.
On their arrival at Imphal, they felt very happy as they were able to generate fresh energy.
They also conveyed their gratitude for the checking and repairing of their bikes free of cost.
The team members of the expedition who came on five bikes were all South Indians.
The serpentine nature of the highways in North East region was a new experience to the peace messengers, they said.
To a question regarding their long arduous journey away from home, they disclosed that they felt no remorse nor home sickness.
They declared that they were dedicated to the cause of world peace.
The team members lamented that they could not meet the Governor and the Chief Minister because of their tight schedules.
In a message to the people of Manipur, Justin called to promote love, peace and frater nity and to ensure a prosperous society after eradicating poverty.
