The Congress party is seeking to script a new history in the Khundrakpam A/C in the forthcoming by-poll from where no Congress candidate was ever elected.
Addressing a political meeting at Pukhao Naharup ground today, Chief Minister O Ibobi appealed to the people to make a comparative study between candidates elected from Khundrakpam A/C in Assembly elections and the INC candidate for the forthcoming by-poll Th Lokeshore.
He attributed the backwardness of the constituency to frequent change of political parties by MLAs elected from the constituency.
Appealing to the people not to trust the tall promises made by leaders of other parties at the time of election, Ibobi remarked that majority of these political leaders were already rejected by the people of their own constituencies.
He further appealed to the Khundrakpam A/C people to support the SPF Ministry led by Congress party so that the present Government remains strong and stable.
The Chief Minister further claimed that the Government has made all preparations to address the various woes of the people in case the Congress candidate is elected.
Speaking on the occasion Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya noted that if the Congress candidate is elected, it would not be difficult for the party to grasp absolute majority.
He further appealed to the people to take advantage of initiating various development programmes in the constituency by inducting their representative in the SPF Government.
Other Congress MLAs and MPCC leaders also spoke at the meeting.
