Despite medical personnel abstaining from duty in the Out Patients' Department (OPD) and Casualty Wards of JN Hospital the number of patients at the remaining major hospital (RIMS) is still at a manageable level, according to RIMS Superintendent-in-charge Dr N Tombi.
In an exclusive chat with The Sangai Express today, Dr tombi, however, said the situation may be different in case the current ceasework strike at JN Hospital persists.
Mention may be made that medical personnel under the banner of employees' body of State Medical Department launched the agitation since May 21 to demand payment of non-practising allowances subsequently resulting in the OPD and casualty ward shut-down.
fresh admission of patients' at these section have been stopped from May 24.according to sources number of patients at the RIMS hospital have been recording only a marginal increase mainly due to availability of similar services at private medical centres.
highlighting the prevailing scenario at RIMS hospital, the official also said as arrival of patients is within the capacity no prearrangement to cope with excessive patients has been initiated so far.
