9 hurt in jail clash

Imphal, September 24: In all 9 prisoners including underground activists sustained injuries in a clash that broke out inside the Sajiwa Jail and the subsequent action of the CRPF personnel to stop the fight at around 11 am today.

The injured prisoners who have been admitted to JN Hospital at Porompat for treatment are identified as S Inaocha (40), Th Bung (32), P Momba (30), L James (27), S Suresh (27), Md Basir Ahamed (18), Thongchuisang (29), Minthang (26) and Sanjoy.

SP claims peace in Charhajare IMPHAL, Sep 24 :There is no tension among different communities of Charhajare, claimed Senapati SP Nishit Kumar Ujjwal while appealing to the people not to trust rumours.

Nevertheless, he informed that additional forces are still deployed in Charhajare.

At present, a company of 4th IRB, one company of 6th MR and a platoon of 3rd IRB, OC Sapermeina PS, SDPO, Additional SP, and himself have been camping in the area, informed SP Ujjwal.

He said that situation in Charhajare is totally under control.
