Imphal, August 22: Non-clearance from the State's Home Department to a tour schedule already intimated by the Commerce and Industries Minister Y Erabot Singh has left the latter furious at the alleged callous treatment meted out to him.

A visibly upset Y Erabot simply told his department's officials and mediapersons that his proposed official tour to Moreh town has been cancelled before quickly retiring into his room.

A media team and officials of Commerce and Industries Department assembled at the Porompat residence of Y Erabot this morning to depart for Moreh where the Minister was supposed to attend a conference in addition to inspecting development works implemented under the Departments of Cooperative and FCS.

However, as there was no sign of leaving for the tour as per scheduled, inquisitive mediapersons were confided that necessary clearance from the Home Department held by the Chief Minister was not granted.

close aides of the Minister disclosed to the media team that when the Minister entrusted his private Secretary to enquire it came to light that the Home Department without any valid explanation did not processed the file movement inspite of the fact that a formal intimation was made four days ahead of the tour.

It is also learnt that when the DGP was approached on matters concerning provision of additional security escorts for the tour, the police chief cited absence of official communication from the Home Department for not arranging security measures.

The Commerce and Industries Minister was scheduled to attend the Moreh seminar on 'Development of Export and Import Activities' as the chief guest.
