Sadar Hills District Congress Committee (SHDCC) has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister urging him not to drop the lone Minister from Sadar Hills Minister of FCS, Forest and Environment Ngamthang Haokip when the reshuffling of the SPF Ministry takes place.
The memorandum jointly signed by presidents of Sadar Hills District Congress Committee, Saitu Block Congress Committee, Kangpokpi Block Congress Committee and Saikul Block Congress Committee expressed hoped that the Chief Minister would keep the interest not only of the State and the party but also of the community in mind while effecting the Ministry reshuffling.
The memorandum pointed out that in accordance with the party principle of one man one post, MPCC (I) president and Power Minister Gaikhangam ought to resign from his Ministerial post.
But Ngamthang Haokip who has been working in the interest of the people of Saitu, Saikul and Kangpokpi should not be dropped from the Ministry under any condition.
Dropping him at his juncture when the election is round the corner would amount to political assassination, the memorandum said, adding that inducting a Cabinet Minister after the resignation of Gaikhangam would be the right step.
Meanwhile, with in view of the impending Ministry reshuffling, tension within the Congress Legislature Party has been reportedly heighten.
According to a source from Congress Bhavan list of the Minister who would be dropped for inducted would be forwarded to general secretary of North East in-charge of the party Oscar Fernandes to the Chief Minister within the next couple of days.
