Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh will make a presentation on 'Investment Opportunities' in Manipur in the first session of the day-long 'North East India Investment Conference' to be organised jointly by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India on September 26 at Hotel Hyatt, New York, USA coinciding with four-day long India @ 60 Event commencing from September 23.Manipur Urban Development Secretary PK Singh, who will accompany the Chief Minister, will address on Infrastructure in Manipur in the second session of the conference.
Other points to be discussed in the conference include Agro and Food Industries, Information Technology and Tourism.
The Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission, India Dr.Montek Singh Ahluwalia as Chief Guest will inaugurate the Conference.
The Chairman of CII Sunil Bharti Mittal will give a special address; Chairman of CIINorth East Council Dipankar Chatterji present the welcome address and DoNER Secretary Dr.Sushma Singh will make concluding remarks in the inaugural session.
The Conference will be participated by the Chief Ministers, Ministers and officials of the North Eastern States.
Officials from Ministry of DoNER, Ministry of Power, Department of Road Transport & Highways, Information Technology, Food Processing Industries, Government Agencies and corporate industries will also take part in the conference.
The DoNER is organizing such events to bring the North Eastern Region of India in focus by highlighting its strength and targeting entrepreneurs to invest in high potential sectors like tourism, food and agro industries, infrastructure, minerals, IT and communications and handicrafts sector for its socio-economic development.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh who arrived here from Imphal yesterday will leave New Delhi for New York tomorrow at 2.30 am to take part in the conference.
