Imphal, May 21:
All routine operations have been suspended at RIMS during the last few days due to break down of some sterilising machines installed in the operation theatres.
Yet, emergency operations are being conducted without any disruption.
According to the RIMS Medical Superintendent, some engineers arrived at RIMS on Saturday last to repair the machines.
Repairing work is still going on.
Routine operations will be resumed soon as repairing of the broken down machines is completed which is expected take a day or two, he added.
On the other hand, according to information received by press, some patients unable to wait till the machines get repaired, have shifted to private hospitals for operations.
