A meeting of the SPF legislators held this evening with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in the chair chalked out itineraries for the Prime Minister's forthcoming State visit among which include Dr Manmohan Singh spelling out UPA Government's stance on the Justice (retired) Jeevan Reddy report regarding AFSPA 1958.According to a reliable source, the nearly four hour long meeting that ended at around 9.30 pm entrusted the CM to intimate officials of the PMO for further conveyance to Dr Manmohan to make public decision of the Centre on the sensitive AFSPA issue.
Moreover, the legislators were unanimous on construction of a helipad at the proposed Tipaimukh multi-purpose project site by NEEPCO in time for the PM's visit and engaging the NHPC on works related to the Loktak Downstream Project.
Contrary to previous schedule for a public reception cum meeting only at the historic Kangla Fort, the said meeting listed CCpur district HQs as another venue for the PM's public address during the Nov 27-28 visit that would wind up after a media briefing before departure for the national capital.
Laying foundation stones for the Tipaimukh project, Loktak Downstream project, cultural cum city convention centre, National sports Academy at Khuman Lampak and declaring upgradation of Manipur Institute of Technology as a national institute still remain unchanged, added the source.
