In view of the prevailing law and order situation, the timing for imposition of night curfew in the border town has been extended further.
According to an order newly issued by the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner in this regard, the curfew timing has been extended from 7 pm to 4 am daily, reports our Moreh correspondent.
After a series of incidents in which 11 persons were killed in clashes among UG elements in first week of June this year, curfew was imposed in the border town daily from 6 pm to 4 pm .
However, since August 3, curfew timing was shortened to 9 pm to 4 am daily.
The order issued by the Executive Magistrate of Moreh Ph Ibohal today said that further extension of the night curfew in Moreh has been effected with due approval of the Home Department after a joint meeting of the All Moreh community leaders and officials of the security forces and civil administration at Moreh Police Station yesterday in the interest of preventing occurrence of any untoward incident during night time.
The new curfew timing from 7 pm to 4 am would remain in force until further orders, the order said.
