Moreh, June 18: Despite the efforts made for restoration of peace and normalcy and signing of agreement among the community leaders to stand up unitedly against killing of any innocent civilians in future, with the recent spate of violent incident which claimed 11 lives still fresh in their mind the people of the Moreh town continue to live with fear over the possibility of unexpected clashes.

Consequently, many of the people who settled in vulnerable locations have not yet returned to their homesteads and the pace of normal activities of the people has not picked up.

Moreover, the otherwise busy market places in the border town wore deserted look and people of all the communities were not seen at All Community Variety Market.

Most of the schools and other educational institutions have also not functioned properly.

Talking to this correspondent, some of the displaced people said that they would not like to go back home until normalcy has been fully restored at Moreh along with adequate deployment of security personnel to avoid any untoward incidents.

They said even if normalcy has been seemingly restored at the border town after the efforts made by the Ministerial teams and other social organisations, there is still the lurking fear of the possibility of outbreak of communal clashes at any time unexpectedly.

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the recent violent incident, patrolling of the security forces and frisking of the passers-by have been intensified to improve the law and order situation in the border town.

Along with lifting of the day curfew, the duration of the night curfew has also been shortened from 6 pm to 4 am.
