Special screening session of three films which have won first prizes in the 'We Care Film Festival' held in December last year was organised by Mayum Network at its Kwa-keithel auditorium today.
The three award winning films �Khangdokpa�, �Shakkhangdraba Mahakto� and �Eisu Hingli Nakhoigum�, are based on the life of three different mentally or physically challenged persons.
All the three short films are of 5 minutes duration and are being directed by L Amarendra Sharma with M Angou Singh, L Amarendra Sharma and L Dhaneshore Singh respectively as producers.
�Khangdokpa� is based on the story of Ranendra of Khabam who inspite of being mentally challenged participated in the sporting competition of the mentally and physically challenged held at international level and went on to win many prizes.
�Shakkhangdraba Mahakto� is based on Satyakumar, another physically challenged person to lives at Sagolband Tera.
Satyakumar has distinguished himself as a writer cum painter par excellence in his own rights by using his feet.
Satyakumar has also to his credit of having published books of poems written by himself apart from the fact that he had even worked as a columnist in the local vernacular papers like Naharolgee Thoudang and Huyen Lanpao for some time earlier.
The other film titled, �Eisu Hingli Nakhoigum� is based on Esheihanbi of Nambol Bazar who has overcome her physical handicap and excelled in the field of embroidery works with the used of her feet only.
With the used of her feet Esheihanbi can even combed her hair and smear Chandan or put make up on her face.
