All India Students' Federation (AISF), Manipur State Council has urged the State Govt and other concerned authorities for conducting the viva-voce for filling up the vacant posts of 1678 primary teachers under the Education Department.
Addressing a press conference this afternoon, secrtary of the student body Kh Inaobi recalled the written test for appointment of 1678 primary teachers in the Education Dept had been conducted in three phases on December 22, 2006, January 10, 2007 and January 28, 2007.Out of the total 20,405 candidates who have applied for the post, 5322 candidates have been selected from the written test the result of which was announced on April 16 this year.
But the viva voce for the short-listed candidates have not been conducted till today.
Politics in the Education which is essential for development of human resources has impeded in the smooth functioning of the Department and AISF would stand against this all the time, he stated firmly.
There is no reason why the process of appointment of primary teachers should be delayed.
So the viva voce should be conducted within the current month of June and the declared the result as soon as possible, he pressed.
Warning candidates who are to appear in the viva voce against any attempt to bribe any of the members of Selection Board, Inaobi also appealed to the Selection Board members to discharge their duty sincerely in selecting the right candidates.
The Board members should see that the candidates have the requisite knowledge, personality and communication skills at the time of selection, he said, adding that no room should be given for corruption in selection process of the primary teachers for the better ment of the education system.
