Taking note of arrested development in the North East, Rashtriya Janata Dal�s national secretary Harish Mahapatra has assured to prevail upon Central leaders to ensure equal development throughout the country.
Before wrapping up his three day State visit, Mahapatra told reporters that performance record of the Congress led SPF Government is far from satisfaction and informed that party president and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav is slated to arrive in Manipur in September to assess the entire scenario.
�One major issue which has come to my notice during my short study is unemployment,� he said and hastened to list issue of territorial integrity and volatile law and order as the other major concerns of the State.
Stating that lalu Prasad has soft corner for neglected States of the NE region, Mahapatra said problems afflicting Manipur would be adequately highlighted to the party chief.
he also attributed the Railway Minister�s egalitarian vision on development as the chief factor for the Rs 2092 crore railway budget presentation substantial amount of which would be utilised in expediting national Railway Projects in J and K and NE region including the Jiribam-Toupul section.
The RJD leader also said necessary funds would be made available by the Ministry of finance during the current fiscal depending on progress of the ongoing works.
On territorial integrity of Manipur, Mahapatra, who is also party�s in-charge of North East, said RJD is committed to preserve current status of States� boundary and would never allow carving out such boundaries.
RJD will work for integrity and communal harmony amongst the people, he affirmed.
On his political vision towards the state, Mahapatra who arrived with RJD�s Orissa unit vice president Behera to strengthen party base in Manipur said inspite of being in a nascent stage comparatively �we have able leaders here including former Chief Minister W Nipamacha Singh�.
Nipamacha, who too joined the media briefing, wasted no time in lambasting the Okram Ibobi singh Ministry for alleged failure on all front.
He said even during his tenure as CM the law and order situation was not as worst as is being currently witnessed with Ibobi at the helm of affairs.
