A person trying to extort money with forged letter head and seal of the proscribed KYKL was pulled up by the outfit and punished with a bullet in the right leg.
The accused is identified as one Moirangthem Chaklamba (22) s/o Muhindro of Khurai Thangjam Leikai.
On the other hand, LK Type Writing owned by one M Thoiba of Khurai Pathabi and a rubber stamp making unit have been closed indefinitely for manufacturing the forged seal and letter head.
Parading the three before media persons at a place in Imphal West district before punishing punishment to Chaklamba, a spokesman of the KYKL said that following information that some individuals have been trying to extort money with forged letter heads and seal of the outfit, a team of KYKL cadres were investigating the matter under the command of deputy finance chief Nongthon Mangang since this morning.
In the course of the investigation, Chaklamba was pulled up from Kangla.
Further acting on his disclosure, Thoiba and Romi involved in manufacturing the fake letter heads and seals were also pulled up, conveyed the spokesman.
Ten numbers of forged letters heads, a round seal and a rubber stamp embossed with the words "Secretary Wangamba, KYKL" were recovered from the possession of Chaklamba.
One forged letter head was used to demand Rs 60,000 from one Th Mahesh, proprietor of the LPG shop (Spectrum) located at Chingmeirong Khongnang Karak.
The spokesman further warned one Boraton of Khurai Chingnangbam Leikai to surrender to the outfit within three days for working with Chaklamba on the forged letter head and seal.
