Imphal, May 03: Youmu Duaaish Shuhadaa, prayer session for the victims of the unfortunate May 3, 1993 clash between two friendly communities have been held at various places inhabited by Muslims today.

The prayer session organised under the joint observation committee of AMMCOC, AMMSO, AMWOM and KMCDO were held at Khelakhong Khongjin, Shora, Yairipok Singa, Yairipok Tulihal, Urup, Keirai, Kiyamgei, Kshetri Rahamania ground, Hatta and Golapati as well as at every Yatim Khanas (Orphan Homes), Maktabs, Masjids, etc.

The main features of the observance include recitation of Holy Quraan, evoking Duaa (Blessing) of Allah for granting peace and harmony among the different groups of people living in Manipur and peaceful repose of the souls of the victims at Jannat (heavenly abode).

The May 3, 1993 unfortunate incident generated by false rumours had left a blot on the face of Manipur which has a legacy of communal harmony and peaceful co-existence among the people.

Every community in Manipur had come out strongly condemned the incident and their timely intervention help in resolving the issue within a short time.

The organising committee has also extended its gratitude to all the mohallas, clubs, organisations, social workers and other individuals who have extended their assistance and support in organising the Youmu Duaaish Shuhadaa successfully.
