Imphal, Jun 01:
Adhoc employees have reiterated their demand for regularisation of all adhoc employees who have been engaged in their service for the last 5 to 18 years through a special DPC.
A statement issued by the All Manipur Education (S) Dept Ad-Hoc Employees' Association urged for fulfillment of their demand before resumption of strong agitation along with the adhoc employees of Electricity Department by framing a special State policy to affect the regularisation.
Recalling that previous State Governments have approved regularisation of adhoc employees, it lamented that the SPF Government has suddenly been indulging in activities to terminate the service of adhoc employees of different State Departments taking advantage of the Supreme Court directive to this end.
In 1994, about 600 adhoc teachers in Education Department were regularised besides many other doctors regularised recently in Health Department, said the adhoc employees.
Castigating the initiative of the State Government to terminate the services of adhoc employees, who have been serving the State for the last 5 to 18 years, in line with Supreme Court verdict passed in connection with the Uma Devi case, it said that the verdict is not fit for application to the genuine employees of the State.
Further it flayed the detention of JAC leaders by the State Government instead of addressing its genuine demands.
