Imphal, February 15: Major General GG Dwivedi, GOC, 57 Mt Div today inaugurated the Friendship Sports Complex in Khungho Kuki Village as part of the �anniversary celebrations� of the village, said PIB (Defence Wing) in a statement.

As a goodwill gesture, a project for extension of a playfield into a full size football ground was taken up by the Army.

The local Engineer unit undertook the project and the completed ground was handed over to the village by the General Officer during the function, added PIB.

General Dwivedi also presented sports items to the village on the occasion and assured full co-operation of the Army to promote sports culture amongst the youth.

The villagers conveyed their gratitude to the Army for extending co-operation for the overall development of the village.
