Imphal, October 03:
Disgruntled Congress MLAs who were axed in the Ministry downsizing of the SPF Govt in August last year have started to mount pressure for a major reshuffle to accommodate them in the Ministry, according to a reliable source.
As CM O Ibobi Singh has not spelt out any thing after his return from New Delhi, where he had gone along with State Unit Congress president Gaikhangam, IFC Minister Phungzathang Tonsing and Speaker TN Haokip to consult the AICC chief Sonia Gandhi on the impending Ministry reshuffling, it has caused sleepless night among the Cong MLAs, the source said.
Out of the 30 Cong MLAs, 20 of them who are clamouring for Ministerial berths have jointly submitted a memorandum urging for a major reshuffle in the SPF Ministry, the source disclosed.
Three other party MLAs who are not Ministers, namely Speaker TN Haokip, Hill Area Committee Chairman Songchinkhup and MANITRON Chairman Bijoy Koijam, however did not put their signatures on the memorandum, the source added.
T Haokip and Songchinkhup did not signed in the memorandum as they are holding important posts of the Assembly while Bijoy Koijam declined to put his signature following differences of opinion over his proposal remove C M O Ibobi Singh, the source said.
