Imphal, April 29:
A team of Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Ghqs went on an inspection tour of schools under New Keithelmanbi (NH 53) block today.
During the tour, the team found the N Boljang Government UJB School the most neglected even though it is located just 21 kms away from Imphal.
The school building was found badly dilapidated after the thatched roof was blown away during a storm in the night of April 27.The school building constructed by the villagers had broken down on two occasions earlier.
The school building was built by the villagers in 2002 after they shifted there from Joupi of Tamenglong district on account of ethnic clash.
Moreover, four teachers including the Headmaster have been enjoying the benefits of their salaries without attending classes.

Boljang village chief Thanglun Haokip lamented the failure of the State Government to construct a school building despite repeated appeals to the authority concerned including Ministers.
The school building of S Saheibung Government UJB School was also constructed by the villagers.
Even as the villagers have initiated construction of a brick school building from their own contributions and have appealed repeatedly to include construction of the school building in the work programme, the authority concerned has failed to act and as such the school building still remains incomplete.
The KSO team also inspected the Khoken Government UJB School which has been upgraded to the level of a Junior High School by the villagers themselves.
Even as the school has a standard building, the school is facing shortage of teachers as the school has not been recognised as a Junior High School.
Concerned with the shortage of the basic infrastructure, vice-president of KSO Th Richard has appealed to the authority concerned to construct a school building at S Boljang at the earliest.
He also appealed to upgrade Khoken UJB School to a Junior High School officially and to complete construction of the Saheibung UJB School building.
The KSO is prepared to launch agitation of any kind in case the State Government fails to fulfil its demands, he added.
